Vigil in Marble, No. 12 // 2024
Overview
A fragment of antiquity keeps its watch over a darkened hall. The bust is whole only in suggestion — the missing planes are finished by the visitor’s own memory of stone.
Made during the winter survey of the sculpture courts, this plate opens the volume. It states the practice plainly: let the object be still, and let the room move around it.

“Stone outlasts every gaze directed at it. I only arranged the dark so the marble could speak first.”
